 Every August, the Monterey Peninsula, California, USA is bound to become a gathering place for classic car enthusiasts. A variety of classic and unique cars gathered during the Monterey Classic Car Week. Highlights of the event included the Rolex’s ‘Pebble Beach Tour d’Elegance’ cruise (August 15th), ‘The Quail: A Motorsports Gathering’ (August 16th), ‘Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance’ classic car collection exhibition ( August 18) and the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion (August 16-18). ‘Monterey Classic Car Week’ is a grand event to appreciate the beauty of antique cars, and to show fans the glorious side of classic cars in the past. Rolex has been supporting this activity for many years since 1997.

 The origin of the event week dates back to 1950, when a group of sports car owners decided to create a road race and car show in Pebble Bay. The first championship of the road race was Phil. Hill (Phil Hill), later he became the three-time champion of the ‘Liman 24 Hours’ and the first American champion driver of the ‘Formula One Championship’. Over the next 60 years, the scale, form and standard of this event continued to increase, attracting cars and spectators from all over the world to participate in the event.

Rolex presents Pebble Beach Tour d’Elegance (August 15)

 Rolex has been the title sponsor of Pebble Beach Tour d’Elegance since 2007. Founded in 1998, the parade is dedicated to the elegance of racing in sports through the picturesque racing track on the Monterey Peninsula. The 17-mile pristine road on the peninsula adds a footnote to the early history of this cruise.

The Quail: A Motorsports Gathering (August 16)

 The Quail is a classic car party that combines iconic cars with superb cooking skills. The award is based on a peer review mechanism. Other participants evaluate the most unique cars among them in terms of unique design, extraordinary technology, and accurate repair processes. They are also awarded the ‘Rolex Best Car Model’. Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance (August 18)

 Since 1972, on the third Sunday of August every year, about 200 of the world’s most precious collector’s cars will gather on the famous Track 18 of Pebble Bay to participate in the world’s top classic car collection exhibition event — Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. The event was founded in 1950 to showcase the most avant-garde cars of our time, and slowly developed into the world’s most competitive collector’s car show. Rolex’s pursuit of excellence and attention to detail, while the pursuit of perfection in watchmaking and motorsport activities has contributed to the close cooperation between Rolex and motor sports. The brand has been the official timer of the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance since 1997 and a partner of The Lodge at Pebble Beach.

Rolex Monterey Classic Car Race (August 16-18)

 The Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion is another important cornerstone of the week. The highly respected circuit at Laguna Seca Raceway in Monterey, California features legendary curves and challenging five-story “spiral” ramps. More than 550 classic classic cars representing important years in the history of the car challenged the limit together, and this year Corvette will be used as a special theme racing model.

 Rolex rewards the tireless efforts of the winners of each group. One of the owners who best embodies the spirit of excellence in car racing will receive a valuable Rolex watch and the highest honor, the Rolex Award of Excellence. Rolex has been the title sponsor of this event since the Rolex Monterey Classic Car Race was renamed in 2010.
